Drake supporters were disappointed this morning when they discovered that Aubrey Graham had not released a new album. For All The Dogs, his next album, has been teased by the Toronto superstar himself in recent weeks. Friday (Aug 25) was looking especially good, and fellow rapper Lil Yachty was eager to add salt to the wound.

Drizzy’s close pal took to X to mock fans who assumed the album would be released today. “Y’all stupid, nobody even said for all the dogs was coming out tonight,” he said.

Most fans dismissed the criticism, even leveraging the message to promote other releases. “Yachty and Drake know this is Victoria Monét’s night,” one person said.
Another person took the time to clarify why fans assumed the LP will be released today, noting the “Hotline Bling” rapper’s prior releases. “It ain’t even that, usually when artists drop a cover art for their album, it drops within that week,” they added. “Drake has done that for at least his last three projects, and we all assumed that stayed the same, especially since he’s done multiple surprise drops before.”

On July 14, the Grammy-winning rapper revealed For All The Dogs at the same time he launched his book Titles Ruin Everything. Drake then added to the frenzy during the New York leg of his It’s All A Blur Tour, saying the project will be out “in two weeks or some s**t.” He revealed the official cover art, which was done by his son Adonis, on Tuesday (Aug. 22).

However, as Lil Boat pointed out, Drake never specified an official release date at all.
